Motorsport and Offroading

Motorsport

I have always been interested in Motorsport, even as a child. In the middle of the 1970's I had the opportunity to help build a rally car, then act as service crew for that car. I then joined the Auckland Car Club, then a year or so later the Hibiscus Coast Motorsport Club. I competed in their club events, a few rallies and quite a few rally sprints until the early 2000's when I moved to Australia.  I was granted life membership of the club in 2002

Offroading and 4WD

Early in the 2000's we had a new Landrover Freelander so we joined the Auckland Landrover owners club where we did offroad events with them in the Freelander until we moved to Australia. We then did a few events in Australia in the Freelander. We had a Rangerover and joined the Brisbane Rangerover owners club where we did club events. When we moved to Australia, we bought a Nissan Mistral 4WD as our New Zealand vehicle and still did events with the Landrover club for several years.

In Australia, we also bought a 78 Series Landcruiser Troopy. We still own this today and have been offroad all over Australia including a few club events
